The majority of vehicles on the road made after 2001 feature OBD ports (On Board Diagnostics). This means the vehicles computer logs and records data about its running envionment and self diagnoses.
We have professional computer equipment to access this information and read the DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes stored along with viewing live data straight from the engines sensor network and other equipment fitted to the vehicle.
Why do you need diagnostic computers to read my vehicle?
Your car or light vehicle is capable of recording an enoumous amount of data about all of its various functions. It record any minor faults it detects in its memory and leaves them for future reference. If the fault is deemed a major problem it will put a light on the dash to alert the driver. We use high end professional diagnostic computers which communicate with your vehicles ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and BCM (Body Control Module) to assess the problems and we can even see those minor problems that the car didn’t warn you about.
Alongside stored information we can see live data and detect problems that the vehicle might not be able to self diagnose from the sensor data.
We have the capability and equipment to communicate further than most diagnostic computers can with the majority of VAG group vehicles. The VAG group encompasses Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, SEAT, Bentley, Bugatti and Lamborghini.
We are not only able to perfom specialist diagnostics but can perform programming of the various modules on the vehicle.
With our equipment we can do more than just read a cars computer. We can program it with new codes and adaptations allowing us to set up a car with new components, force a DPF regeneration or simply programme the dials to sweep when you start the car.
If you install a new battery on quite a number of new vehicles you need to program it to the vehicles charging system. We can program new keys to a variety of vehicles, register new tyre pressure monitors and more!
